Getting Ready to Roll!

This has been a busy week...filled with sorting, packing, visiting, and "see you laters".

Seeing friends and family this week in preparation for our departure has been wonderful...and bittersweet.  (No, of course, Grandma Sheila didn't cry half the way back to Port Susan after leaving the grandkids!!!)

As much as we want to travel and be out of the Washington gray for the winter, it is hard to be away from those we care about.  However, the miracle of modern technology and our smart phones will allow us to Skype, text, Facebook, and email as much as we want.  Oh, and of course, there's always the traditional phone conversation!

Part of the prep for leaving was for Tom to wash the exterior of the fifth wheel. No small job under the best of circumstances!

However, Port Susan Camping Club, our summer home, has been having issues with one of the three water wells...and, as luck would have it, it's the well we're on.  We've been under severe water restrictions for several weeks...restrictions that include "no vehicle or RV washing".

Each day we've waited to see if the restrictions had been lifted so that Tom could grab the hose and brush and get to work on the RV.  No chance!

So, this week Tom spent countless hours over several days with a ladder, rag, and spray bottle...and completed the tedious task of cleaning our home.  His shoulders ached, his back ached, his arms ached, and the whole process gave him a headache.  However, he finally got it all done this morning.

And, then...you guessed it...the water restrictions were lifted this afternoon!

Tomorrow morning we head out for our next adventure...
